The Institute of History offers a broad education in all areas of history from antiquity to the present, from bachelor's degrees to doctorates. The aim is to clarify the historical dimension of human existence in its interdependence in politics, society, economy, environment, and culture. This reveals the historical roots of modern society and can show how older and younger traditions overlap in historical change. Such insights into past reality can be an important aid for understanding social and political conditions in the present.
For matriculated students, current information from the management of the institute and the director of studies is published mainly via the History Forum (please note that you must be logged into ILIAS if you wish to use this link).
