Continuing Education at the University of Bern

A part-time postgraduate programme which can be completed after one year as a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Archival, Library and Information Science (CAS ALIS) or after two years as a Master of Advanced Studies in Archival, Library and Information Science (MAS ALIS). The advanced studies programme has been conducted since 2006 with an international teaching staff in German, French and English. The programme takes into account the fields of archival, library and information science in equal parts.

The courses in transferable skills provide key qualifications for future academic and non-university careers. Transferable skills are competences that are acquired in one context and can then be used in different contexts, positions or areas of responsibility. These include project management, writing and rhetoric courses or data analysis and visualisation techniques.

The Centre for University Continuing Education (ZUW) offers various programmes for continuing academic education. The content focuses on the areas of education and research management, evaluation, university didactics and teaching development.
