  • PhD. candidate Tamar Demurishvili works on her doctoral thesis “Religion, Religiosity and Nostalgia in (Post-)Soviet Georgia: from the 1960s to the present” at the University of Bern. In her doctorate she analyses religion and religiosity as part of the everyday, cultural, and political life of the (Post-)Soviet Georgia. For her research Ms. Demurishvili records oral history interviews with different target groups in the capital Tbilisi and regions in Georgia. Her interdisciplinary approach connects historical research with the field of memory studies.

  • Furthermore, Ms. Demurishvili has an expertise in conducting oral history interviews with the eyewitnesses of the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict, with ex-decision makers and political leaders. Currently, Ms. Demurishvili works as a consultant for the Conciliation Resources.
